Flood Control International’s rolling flood gates are ideal for large openings that need to be closed quickly with minimal operational effort. Our gates work on level sills and so are ideal for vehicular and pedestrian openings. There are no below-ground elements that may fill with silt/ debris/ ice that may cause problems with the smooth operation of the gate.
We design our rolling flood gates to suit the layout and geometry of the site. Our gates are just as effective on the ‘dry’ side or ‘wet’ side of a floodwall, with supporting posts that are connected to the groundbeam which is embedded in the base concrete. We have designed double floodgates with swing-out braces which transfer their load down into a slab foundation rather than into the walls each side – this is ideal for larger openings – this system is suitable for openings to 70ft and up to 10ft high.
Our gaskets are EPDM and protected within retainers. They never drag, as they are kept clear of the ground when the gate is moving, so they do not wear out like other gate types’ gaskets. The leakage performance of our gate is also second to none.
Flood Control International’s flood gates are easy to move, with large diameter wheels that are protected within the gate body itself. Operation is usually by manual / 12v or mains winch for gates that are used only in advance of a flood. For some gates which are also used as more frequent access gates we can specify with direct drive motors for push button operation.
We design the floodgates to suit whatever size and layout of opening we need to protect, and to withstand whatever loads are required – hydrostatic, wave loads, impact loads etc..
Our roller floodgates are easy to use, dependable and highly effective.
We provide engineering CAD or PDF drawings of all flood gate installations, to ensure they integrate correctly with the whole scheme designed.
